We had to pass a logging camp on the way in. After that, it was an old trail that appeared not to have been used in a very long time. The entrance to the trail head was partially concealed and the trail itself was almost reclaimed by the bushes. We could hear the branches scrapping the sides of our vehicles.

The Temenggor Lake was our first stop before entering The Royal Belum for an off-road camping adventure. We stopped at an Orang Asli (Indigenous People) settlement to rest and have lunch before taking two boats to the Sungai Halong Camp Site.

The campsite is large and can accommodate up to 30 vehicles without any problems. You will see a few chalets there but these are not in operation. There is also a hall where you can have you activities if it rains, or you can even camp underneath its roof. There is a public toilet available but it is pretty run down. You have to carry water in if you plan on using it.

Kelong Acheh is a Fishing Resort built on stilts, located between Pulau Acheh and Pantai Penyabong near Mersing, Johore. It is a popular resort for visitors from Malaysia and Singapore. If you are coming from Kuala Lumpur, the drive will take you about 6 hours.
